Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Duties

• Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
• Conduct detailed account analysis and general ledger accounting to support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls across all financial reporting activities.
• Perform data entry with high accuracy in various accounting systems including Workday, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Ceridian, Kronos, ADP, and others.
• Reconcile accounts regularly through account reconciliation procedures and balance sheet reconciliation practices.
• Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, credit analysis, and cash flow management to support organizational financial planning.
• Handle confidential information with integrity while providing excellent customer service to internal teams and external auditors.
• Support internal audits by preparing documentation related to governmental accounting standards and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
• Familiarity with a variety of financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, UltiPro or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), governmental accounting standards, and SOX compliance requirements.
• Experience with technical accounting issues related to public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
• Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining high levels of professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Pay: $86,200.00 - $99,800.00 per year
