Job Title: Accountant (Trucking / Logistics)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will manage financial operations specifically tailored to transportation and trucking logistics, including freight billing, driver pay settlements, fuel tracking, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate understands key industry metrics (such as cost-per-mile) and thrives in a fast-paced environment supporting our overall operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Freight Billing & Invoicing: Manage accounts receivable (A/R), ensuring timely billing of freight invoices, rate confirmations, and bill-of-lading (BOL) verification.
• Accounts Payable & Settlements: Process vendor invoices, fuel card statements, Best Pass, Pre Pass and driver payroll/settlements (owner-operators and independent contractors).
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare weekly driver statements, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, highlighting key transportation metrics like cost-per-mile and revenue-per-truck**,** perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, fuel accounts, factor company payments, and general ledger accounts.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows using transport management systems (TMS) and accounting software.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within the trucking, logistics, or transportation industry.
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles (GAAP), cost accounting, and transportation financial operations.
• Hands-on proficiency with spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and transport management or accounting software (e.g., Quick Manage, Motive, Quick Book or similar TMS).
• Experience handling driver settlements, fuel tracking, or freight factoring.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet weekly closing deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with fleet managers, accounting team, safety team, drivers, and vendors.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
