About the Role

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Limassol, Cyprus. The role will primarily focus on preparing and processing payments across multiple group entities, ensuring transactions are accurate, properly approved and completed on time. You will also support day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations and the overall finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process supplier, payroll and other company payments through banking and payment platforms, following internal approval procedures
• Review invoices, supporting documentation and beneficiary details before processing payments
• Maintain payment schedules, monitor due dates and follow up on outstanding approvals
• Track payment status, investigate rejected or returned payments and provide payment confirmations
• Record invoices, payments and bank transactions accurately in the accounting system
• Perform bank and supplier reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries
• Maintain complete and organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accounting entries
• Provide documentation and support for audits
• Follow internal financial controls and contribute to improvements in payment and accounting processes
• Assist with ad hoc finance and accounting tasks as required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable
• Good understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
• Hands-on experience preparing and processing payments through online banking platforms
• Experience with bank and supplier reconciliations
• Experience with accounting software; knowledge of Xero is a plus
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet payment deadlines
• Responsible approach to confidential financial information
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

Preferred Profile

• Experience within the Forex or Financial Services industry
• Experience working across multiple entities and currencies
• Familiarity with payment service providers (PSPs) and high-volume transactions
• Proactive and hands-on attitude
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
