Job Title: Accountant

This position will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. This role will require high level accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and strong ownership of tasks to manage company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

· Payroll Preparation & Administration:

o Process accurate, timely end-to-end multi-state payroll

o Prepare and file all monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports

o Ensure compliance with employment laws and tax regulations across all payroll activities

· Benefits, Insurance, & Compliance:

o Obtain and administer employee benefits (health, ancillary, and 401K)

o Assist with the obtaining business insurance for the company

o Ensure compliance by filing required government reporting and forms (such as 1095s, 5500s, PCORI, RxDC, and COBRA, insurance audits)

· Accounting Operations:

o Oversee and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

o Review and file sales tax and other government reporting requirements

o Prepare journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, and year-end tax preparation

o Ensure all accounting practices comply with legal guidelines and established accounting principles

Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred

· Experience: Previous accounting experience with a strong understanding of payroll, AR, AP, and general ledger accounting

· Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) & QuickBooks payroll

Physical Requirements: This position is primarily office-based, and may require prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. The employee must be able to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically. The position may occasionally require standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting or carrying office materials. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
