Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to join our Nursery & Agricultural Operations team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting functions, track nursery inventory (plants, pots, fertilizers, and equipment), reconcile daily sales, and process vendor transactions.

This position is ideal for candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience or recent accounting graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting within the agricultural, landscaping, or retail nursery sector.

Key Responsibilities1. Nursery Inventory & Asset Accounting

• Track and log plant nursery inventory, including indoor/outdoor plants, pots, fertilizers, soil amendments, and irrigation supplies.
• Assist in periodic physical stock counts at the nursery and reconcile physical inventory with general ledger balances.
• Record stock adjustments for plant wastage, propagation, mortality, or damaged items.

2. Daily Sales & POS Reconciliation

• Reconcile daily retail sales and point-of-sale collections (cash,, and electronic payments) from the nursery .
• Prepare daily sales reports and ensure prompt bank deposits for cash transactions.

3. Accounts Payable & Supplier Relations

• Process vendor invoices for agricultural inputs, plant suppliers, transport/logistics, and equipment.
• Match supplier invoices with Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and delivery notes (e.g., soil deliveries, pots, nursery tools).
• Prepare payment vouchers and track vendor payment schedules.

4. General Ledger & Reporting

• Maintain petty cash funds for daily nursery operational expenses and worker allowances.
• Assist in month-end financial closing, preparing basic financial statements, and supporting cost tracking for nursery production/maintenance.
• Organize and maintain proper digital and physical archiving of accounting documents.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping. Fresh graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
• Software Skills:
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge or familiarity with accounting/ERP software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar systems).
• Skills & Abilities:
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and inventory management concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling numbers and stock records.
• Willingness to perform occasional physical inventory checks at nursery facilities.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Pay: From QAR3,000.00 per month
