Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated, reliable, and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the accounts of multiple institutions under our management. The selected candidate will be based at By the Bay Kovalam Resort and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and coordinating with auditors and other finance professionals across the institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day books of accounts for multiple institutions.
• Record and reconcile receipts, payments, bank transactions, and petty cash.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and periodic financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable and track outstanding payments.
• Coordinate with auditors, Chartered Accountants, and tax consultants.
• Ensure statutory compliance and maintain organised financial records and supporting documents.
• Process payroll and maintain salary records, where required.
• Monitor budgets and assist management with financial planning.
• Maintain separate and accurate accounting records for each institution and support timely consolidation or reporting where required. [Institutions Covered: By the Bay Kovalam Resort (Kovalam, Kerala); Upcoming resort at Karingal, Tamil Nadu; Kovalam Football Club; Thomas & Sarah Kailath Hostel, Arumanoor (residential facility of Kovalam Football Club); SEED – Society to Educate and Empower the Differently Skilled (special school)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, and other accounting software.
• Good communication skills in English and Malayalam; knowledge of Hindi is an added advantage.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage accounts for multiple institutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with GST, TDS, payroll, and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Experience handling accounts for multiple entities.
• Prior experience as an accountant in the hospitality, education, non-profit, or social sector.
