Accountant

Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable & General Ledger (GL)

• Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable, including issuing of Purchase order (PO), processing invoices, verifying expenses, preparing payment runs and reconciliation of vendor statements.
• Perform daily data entry and accurate General Ledger (GL) maintenance in the Autocount Accounting System .
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure proper depreciation tracking.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

2. Tax Compliance

• Handle the preparation and submission of Withholding Tax (WHT) compliance with local regulations.
• Assist in liaise with tax agents and auditors regarding tax queries and statutory requirements .
• Ensure all financial documentation adheres to local tax regulations and company policies.

3. Grant Management

• Manage the end-to-end process of grant submissions , including preparing financial documentation and ensuring compliance with grantor requirements.
• Track grant budgets versus actual spending and flag variances to the management team.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary documentation for grant audits.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant working experience in a similar finance role.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Autocount Accounting System is an added advantage.

• Knowledge of Withholding Tax regulations is an added advantage.

• Solid understanding of General Ledger (GL) functions and double-entry accounting.

• Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Proactive problem solver with the ability to work independently.
