Accountant

Job Overview :

We are recruiting on behalf of one of EPTA’s clients, a fashion and apparel company based in Sharjah, UAE, seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to join its finance team and support the efficient management of its accounting and financial operations.

The ideal candidate will have solid accounting experience, strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills, and a good understanding of inventory accounting and cost management. We are looking for a professional who can maintain accurate financial records, monitor inventory-related transactions, and contribute to effective financial control and compliance. Previous accounting experience in the fashion, apparel, retail, or trading sectors will be considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities :

• Record, review, and maintain accurate daily accounting transactions, journal entries, and financial records.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable (AP/AR), including supplier payments, customer invoicing, collections, and related reconciliations.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
• Monitor inventory-related accounting transactions, stock movements, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Coordinate with inventory and operations teams to reconcile physical stock records with accounting records and investigate discrepancies.
• Review purchase invoices, supplier statements, sales transactions, and supporting financial documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, financial statements, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Monitor operating expenses, product costs, and financial transactions related to fashion and apparel operations.
• Maintain accurate VAT records and assist in preparing UAE VAT returns and supporting documentation.
• Support UAE Corporate Tax compliance by organizing relevant accounting records and preparing the required financial information.
• Maintain well-organized accounting records and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial procedures, and company policies.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Relevant practical accounting experience, preferably within the UAE.
• Previous accounting experience in fashion, apparel, retail, or trading companies is an advantage.
• Good understanding of inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation procedures.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and meet reporting deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with inventory, operations, and management teams.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
