Accountant

Duties And Responsibilities

• Complete the daily banking requirements.
• Assist with completion of monthly financial statements.
• Make monthly general ledger entries for various accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare schedules and provide requested backup and explanations for the annual audit.
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Complete intercompany transactions.
• Support accounts payable department, including processing A/P transactions.
• Support accounts receivable department, including cash application and managing customer accounts.
• Respond to inquiries from the President, and VP of Finance regarding financial results.
• Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required.

Education

• BS/BA in accounting is required

Requirements

• Up to 2 years of experience in accounting is required.
• Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Excel with an emphasis on VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining exceptional accuracy, is required.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to be a team player - doing whatever is necessary to get the job done.
• Experience with intercompany transactions a plus.
• QuickBooks or AS400 knowledge a plus.
• Trucking industry experience a plus.
