Accountant

Duties

• Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday to facilitate timely payments and collections.
• Conduct detailed account analysis and account reconciliation to verify data integrity across multiple accounting systems like PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or similar platforms.
• Support payroll management activities including data entry, payroll processing via Paychex or ADP systems, and ensuring accurate employee compensation.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, financial reporting, and audit preparation while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Perform technical accounting tasks related to SOX compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), governmental accounting standards, or non-profit accounting requirements as applicable.
• Utilize advanced Excel data analysis skills for financial modeling, budgeting support, and detailed financial analysis to inform decision-making.
• Handle customer service inquiries related to billing issues or account discrepancies with professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in various accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP or similar platforms; experience with financial software integration is a plus.
• Strong technical skills in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets management, and the use of accounting systems for data entry and report generation.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements along with governmental or non-profit accounting standards preferred.
• Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to perform account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries and account reconciliation accurately.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while demonstrating high attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing exceptional customer service related to financial inquiries.

Pay: $63,600.00 - $76,700.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Little Rock, AR 72207
