Accountant

About the Role

FirstBPO is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing finance team in San Pablo City, Laguna. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of our organisation. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position is fundamental to supporting FirstBPO's financial operations and strategic decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, ledger accounts, and reconciliations

• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy of financial data

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice verification and payment processing

• Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate employee compensation and tax withholdings

• Support external and internal audit activities by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions

• Maintain compliance with relevant accounting regulations, tax requirements and company policies

• Utilise accounting software and systems to record transactions and generate financial reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional accounting certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent qualification is preferred
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial accounting standards
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliation processes
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• Experience with tax compliance and payroll processing is advantageous
