Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with experience in the financial services or stock broking industry. The role involves managing accounting operations, regulatory compliance, reconciliation of trading accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with industry standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Operations

• Maintain books of accounts including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and trial balance.
• Handle day-to-day accounting transactions for the stock broking business.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.

Reconciliation

• Perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile client funds, margin accounts, and billing records.
• Conduct exchange reconciliations (NSE, BSE, MCX, etc.).
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of demat accounts and broker accounts.

Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

• Ensure compliance with SEBI, exchange regulations, and statutory authorities.
• Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns, TDS, and other tax filings.
• Support audits (internal, statutory, and regulatory audits).
• Maintain proper documentation for compliance and audit purposes.

Client & Trade Accounting

• Maintain client ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor margin requirements and funding obligations.
• Handle brokerage accounting and revenue recognition.

Payroll & Expenses (if applicable)

• Assist in payroll processing and employee reimbursements.
• Track and manage operational expenses.

Reporting & MIS

• Prepare MIS reports for management.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or risks.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting.

Required Skills & QualificationsEducational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (B.Com preferred)
• CA Inter / CMA Inter / MBA Finance (preferred but not mandatory)

Experience

• 1 to 5 years of accounting experience
• Prior experience in stock broking / financial services industry is preferred

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
• Experience with accounting software (Tally, Zoho, or similar)
• Familiarity with trading platforms and back-office systems
• Strong understanding of:
• GST, TDS
• SEBI regulations
• Exchange operations (NSE/BSE)

Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Analytical and problem-solving ability
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in reconciliation of trading and demat accounts
• Understanding of capital markets and stock broking operations
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
