Job Title: Accountant

Rate/Salary: $65,000 – $85,000 per year + bonus

Location: Western Arizona

Our client is a natural resources and industrial operations firm dedicated to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable production. This is an exciting opportunity to join a corporate accounting group supporting major industrial and manufacturing operations in southeastern Arizona. You will play a key role in the month-end close cycle, partnering directly with on-site finance teams to analyze financial trends, optimize reconciliations, and streamline close workflows. It offers the ideal setting for an analytical accounting professional looking to gain exposure to enterprise ERP systems, data visualization tools, and operational KPI tracking.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Executing general ledger duties for the month-end close cycle, including preparing and posting key journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
• Collaborating with site-level operational and finance partners to research variances, analyze financial datasets, and communicate key findings to management
• Performing comprehensive account balance reconciliations, investigating discrepancy items, and executing timely resolutions
• Evaluating accounting processes and workflow requirements to identify and implement practical process improvements and automation opportunities
• Assisting with special financial projects, internal audit support, and operational performance tracking as needed

Here’s what our ideal candidate has:

• Proven proficiency in core financial close activities, general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and variance reporting
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills with a solid understanding of financial controls and compliance guidelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration
• Hands-on experience or familiarity with enterprise software systems (such as SAP), advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Business Objects is highly preferred
