Accountant

About the role

Flip Sole Corp. is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time basis in Quezon City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position is integral to our finance operations and plays a crucial role in supporting informed business decision-making across the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Recording and reconciling financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
• Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and standards
• Performing account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies to ensure accuracy of financial records
• Supporting the audit process by organising documentation and providing necessary schedules and supporting materials
• Processing payroll and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
• Managing banking operations, including deposit and payment reconciliation
• Assisting with financial analysis, budget preparation, and forecasting activities
• Maintaining and updating accounting records and ensuring proper filing of financial documentation
• Supporting tax compliance activities and assisting with tax return preparation
• Collaborating with other departments to resolve financial issues and improve accounting processes

What we're looking for

• A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, such as a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional certification
• Professional accounting certification or membership with a recognised accounting body (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage large datasets and create financial reports
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, reporting standards, and compliance requirements relevant to the Philippines
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial documentation and reporting
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role is advantageous
• Experience with financial consolidation, variance analysis, or management accounting is desirable
