Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various financial processes across the organization. Your expertise in accounting software, financial concepts, and regulatory requirements will be vital in delivering precise financial reporting and analysis. Duties

• Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.
• Conduct general ledger accounting activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and applicable governmental accounting standards.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including ledger reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Support internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and audit preparations.
• Utilize Excel data analysis skills for detailed account analysis, budgeting support, and financial reporting.
• Handle confidential information with integrity while providing excellent customer service to internal teams and external vendors.

Experience

• Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP, and governmental accounting practices.
• Hands-on experience with multiple financial software systems such as ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or UltiPro is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including journal entries, account reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and balance sheet management.
• Experience working in public accounting or non-profit organizations is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills and manage large volumes of transactions efficiently.
• Strong numeracy skills combined with excellent attention to detail for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly while maintaining confidentiality; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel is essential.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 14.0 per week
