Accountant

Functional Areas:

• Book-keeping
• VAT
• Year-End Accounts
• Self-Assessment Tax Returns
• Management Accounts

Key Responsibilities:-

• Book-keeping:
• Upload, record, and process invoices, receipts, and bank transactions in accounting software
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• VAT:
• Prepare VAT workings based on income and expenses
• Assist in finalising VAT returns under the guidance of the Senior Accountant
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and deadlines
• Year-End Accounts:
• Assist in preparing year-end accounts and supporting schedules
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Support the filing process with HMRC and Companies House
• Self-Assessment Tax Returns:
• Prepare draft Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals with multiple income sources
• Collect and organise required tax information and documentation
• Management Accounts:
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets
• Perform basic analysis and reconciliations as required
• General Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Senior Accountants and Team Leaders to meet deadlines
• Communicate with internal teams and clients for routine information and clarifications
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all financial work
