Accountant

Pod Premium Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced Real Estate Accountant to manage all financial transactions, accounting operations, and property financial reporting for our portfolio in Lekki. In this role, you will play a crucial part in monitoring project cash flows, managing client payment schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing accurate financial insights to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities

• Financial Record Keeping & Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate daily general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations for all company operations and property development projects.
• Property & Client Accounting: Track milestone payments, client installment plans, mortgage transactions, and commission disbursements for agents and sales officers.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist management in preparing annual operating budgets, cash flow projections, and financial forecasts for new and ongoing real estate projects.
• Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation and timely remittance of statutory deductions (e.g., Company Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, and Land Use Charges) in compliance with Nigerian tax laws.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, profit & loss accounts, balance sheets, and project cost-variance reports.
• Auditing & Internal Controls: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, implement strict financial controls, and reconcile property escrow or project accounts.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of proven accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years specifically within the real estate, property development, or construction sector.
• Education: B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional Certification: Active certification or progress toward ACA (ICAN) or ACCA is a strong advantage.
• Location: Must reside in or around Lekki, Lagos.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Deep understanding of real estate financial cycles, project costing, and escrow management.
• Exceptional numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple project accounts simultaneously.
