Accountant – E-commerce

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant – E-commerce to manage day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and GST-related activities. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting fundamentals, proficiency in Tally Prime and MS Excel , and an understanding of e-commerce transactions, payment settlements, and financial reporting.

Prior experience in e-commerce accounting will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Manage day-to-day accounting entries and bookkeeping activities.
• Record and maintain sales, purchase, expense, and payment transactions.
• Maintain general ledgers and ensure accurate financial records.
• Verify invoices, supporting documents, and accounting entries.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.

Reconciliation & Payment Settlements

• Perform bank, ledger, and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile e-commerce sales transactions, payment gateway receipts, and marketplace settlements.
• Verify commissions, marketplace charges, refunds, returns, and other deductions.
• Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
• Track pending payments and settlement differences.

GST & Tax Compliance

• Handle GST-related accounting and maintain supporting documentation.
• Perform TCS reconciliation and verify relevant transaction records.
• Assist with GST reconciliations and preparation of data for statutory filings.
• Coordinate with internal teams or external consultants for tax-related requirements.

Financial Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare periodic financial reports and accounting summaries.
• Maintain organized invoices, vouchers, ledgers, and financial documentation.
• Use Tally Prime and Excel to maintain, analyze, and reconcile financial data.
• Support month-end closing and other accounting activities.
• Assist in providing financial records for audits and management reviews.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in Tally Prime and MS Excel .
• Good understanding of GST accounting and TCS reconciliation.
• Experience with bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, and financial documentation.
• Understanding of e-commerce transactions and payment settlement processes.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• B.Com / M.Com from a recognized institution.
• 1- 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Practical experience with Tally Prime and MS Excel.
• Knowledge of GST, bookkeeping, and reconciliation processes.
• Prior experience in e-commerce accounting, online marketplaces, or retail accounting is preferred.

The ideal candidate is an organized and proactive accounting professional who can independently manage routine accounting activities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

The candidate should be detail-oriented, comfortable working with financial data, capable of resolving reconciliation differences, and committed to maintaining reliable accounting records.
