AFP FinTax Global Consultancy Services Inc. is a growing outsourcing company providing accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, and financial services to Australian businesses and professional firms.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an accountant who has a strong foundation in accounting and bookkeeping and is ready to take greater ownership of client accounts, financial reporting, compliance, and day-to-day accounting activities.

Working closely with our Senior Accountants and Australian clients, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, supporting tax compliance, and delivering high-quality accounting services.

Your Impact

• Bookkeeping & Accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, including data entry, transaction categorisation, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Bank & Account Reconciliations: Perform accurate bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, management reports, and supporting financial schedules.
• Month-End & Year-End Accounting: Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including adjusting entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and account reviews.
• Taxation & Compliance Support: Assist with BAS, IAS, GST, payroll, and other Australian tax and compliance-related requirements, working closely with senior accountants where required.
• Workpapers & Documentation: Prepare accurate workpapers, supporting schedules, and financial documentation for accounting and tax engagements.
• Client Support: Communicate professionally with Australian clients to obtain required information, clarify accounting matters, and follow up on outstanding items.
• Quality & Review: Review accounting records and identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information to maintain a high standard of accuracy.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with Senior Accountants and other team members while providing support and guidance to junior accounting and bookkeeping staff when required.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to improving accounting processes, templates, systems, and workflows to increase efficiency and maintain quality.

What You Bring

• The Experience: At least 2–3 years of relevant accounting or business services experience, preferably supporting Australian clients.
• Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger processes.
• Australian Accounting: Knowledge or experience with Australian accounting, taxation, BAS, GST, and payroll requirements is highly desirable.
• Software Competency: Experience with accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks Online, and related accounting or document management systems.
• Excel Skills: Good to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with financial data and prepare accounting schedules.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with confidence communicating with Australian clients and colleagues.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent numerical accuracy and the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
• Organisation: Strong time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
• Teamwork: Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Senior Accountants and other team members.
• Professional Development: A willingness to continuously develop your knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation practices.
