Accountant (Multi-School Operations)

About the role

Manage the full spectrum of finance and accounts across multiple preschool and school branches under the group. You will consolidate monthly and quarterly financial and management reporting across all school locations, ensure compliance with corporate governance and statutory requirements, and manage relationships with bankers, auditors, tax agents, and legal advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full spectrum of finance and accounts across multiple preschool/school branches under the group
• Consolidate monthly and quarterly financial and management reporting across all school locations, highlighting variances by branch
• Ensure the Company's financial accounting, tax and related functions comply with corporate governance, statutory requirements, and group/MOE or relevant childcare regulatory reporting requirements
• Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, tax agents, and legal advisors
• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for each school and consolidated at group level
• Monitor cash flow, enrolment-linked revenue, and financial performance by school, providing insights and recommendations to school principals/management to optimize profitability
• Handle school-specific accounting matters (e.g., student fee collection, government subsidies/grants, deposits and refunds) across all branches
• Support ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required by management, including new school openings, system rollouts, and process improvements
• Proactively leverage AI/digital tools to improve reporting efficiency, automate reconciliations, and streamline multi-branch consolidation

About you

• Qualified Accountant (CIMA/CPA/ACCA or Accounting degree), minimum 5 years relevant working experience
• Experience managing accounts across multiple locations/branches or business units strongly preferred
• Experience in education, childcare, or preschool sector is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and Malaysian tax legislation and practices
• Well-versed in written and oral English
• Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., for reporting, reconciliation, data analysis) and adaptable to evolving digital workflows
• Resilient and able to manage pressure across multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize across branches in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to high-quality, audit-ready work
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, hands-on approach, and commitment to continuous learning
