Accountant/Bookkeeper

The Opportunity Are you an experienced Accountant or Bookkeeper with a strong background in residential real estate?
Join a growing two-office residential real estate business on Sydney’s North Shore, following the recent merger of two established offices.
This is a hands-on position working closely with the Director and management team, where you’ll take ownership of the financial operations and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business.

About the Role You’ll be responsible for:

• Managing end-to-end bookkeeping and financial administration
• Overseeing trust accounting and compliance
• Completing trust, bank and credit card reconciliations
• Managing accounts payable and receivable
• Processing fortnightly payroll, superannuation and PAYG
• Processing and recording sales commissions
• Preparing BAS and liaising with external accountants
• Producing monthly financial reports, including P&L
• Monitoring cash flow and assisting with forecasting
• Supporting budgeting and financial planning
• Managing supplier payments and expenses
• Preparing year-end financial information
• Maintaining accurate financial records and controls
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes

About You Real estate accounting experience is essential.
You’ll ideally have strong experience across:

• Residential real estate accounting or bookkeeping
• Trust accounting and compliance
• Real estate transactions and commissions
• Payroll and reconciliations
• Accounts payable and receivable
• Xero
• PropertyMe and/or Inspection Express

You’ll be highly organised, accurate and commercially minded, with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities.
You’ll also be someone who spots an issue before it becomes a problem, takes initiative and is comfortable communicating financial information directly with senior management.
