Following our recent acquisition of Nexia Perth, we're continuing to invest in our people and our clients, creating exciting opportunities to build careers within a growing national firm while preserving the strong local relationships and culture that have made our Perth team so successful.
We're looking for a motivated and client-focused Consultant (Accountant) to join our Private Clients team that delivers Business Advisory services. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys building trusted client relationships, delivering quality advice, and helping businesses and individuals achieve their financial goals.

As a Consultant within our Private Clients team, you'll work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries, supporting the preparation of financial statements, tax compliance obligations and business advisory matters.
Working alongside experienced Managers and Partners, you'll develop your technical expertise while building strong client relationships and contributing to the delivery of exceptional client service.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Preparing financial statements, income tax returns and regulatory lodgements (including BAS and IAS) for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
- Assisting clients with taxation, compliance and accounting requirements, providing practical solutions to technical taxation and accounting matters.
- Supporting the preparation of management reports, financial analysis and tax planning/business advisory engagements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and business outcomes while becoming a trusted point of contact for clients.
- Building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service across a diverse range of industries.
- Working collaboratively with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality client outcomes and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with professional standards and deadlines.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys working closely with clients, solving problems and continuously developing your technical skills. You're proactive, organised and committed to delivering exceptional service.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- 2 to 5 years' experience within a public practice accounting environment, including preparing financial statements and income tax returns for a broad range of entities.
- Sound understanding of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements.
- Progress towards or completion of a CA or CPA qualification.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong client service capabilities and a collaborative approach to working with others.
- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, APS, XPM or similar platforms.
Why Horizon Nexus Partners?
- Join our newly acquired and highly respected Perth team from Nexia Perth and be part of a collaborative, supportive and high-performing culture.
- Receive ongoing learning, mentoring and professional development opportunities from experienced Partners and senior leaders.
- Access clear career progression pathways within a growing national firm.
- Build meaningful client relationships while working across a diverse range of industries.
- Help shape the future of one of Australia's fastest-growing professional services firms.
