ACCOUNTANT – JOB DESCRIPTION.

1. Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Accountant to manage the company's financial records, prepare financial reports, monitor income and expenditure, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, excellent numerical accuracy, and the ability to maintain accurate and confidential financial records.

2. Job Description

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting documents.
• Monitor daily financial transactions, including payments, receipts, invoices, and expenses.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Prepare payroll records and assist with salary processing where required.
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, and expenditure to support effective financial management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing relevant financial documentation.
• Identify discrepancies in financial records and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions and ensure confidentiality.
• Prepare tax returns and other statutory financial reports where required.
• Use accounting software to record transactions and generate financial reports.

3. Requirements/Skills

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional certification, such as ICAN or ACCA, is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in accounting or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, financial reporting, bank reconciliation, and tax compliance.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Good organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: ₦150,000.00 per month
