Job Title: Accounting Analyst II – Fixed Assets

Location: Houston, TX

Work Model: Hybrid – Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday onsite; Wednesday and Friday remote

Duration: 12+ month contract (High Possibility of Extension)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst II to support the Fixed Assets team with daily and monthly accounting activities, asset capitalization, financial reporting, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power Plan and SAP , along with a strong foundation in general accounting and fixed asset accounting.

Candidates with utility or energy industry experience are highly preferred. The successful candidate should be able to contribute immediately with minimal training and support ongoing accounting, reporting, audit, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily and monthly fixed asset accounting activities, including recording and maintaining fixed asset transactions.
• Perform fixed asset accounting, capital asset tracking, and capitalization activities.
• Utilize Power Plan and SAP to support accounting processes, asset records, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and maintain accounting reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with monthly closing activities and ensure the accuracy of fixed asset records.
• Support internal and external audits by providing relevant financial information and documentation.
• Assist with tax and regulatory reporting requirements related to fixed assets, as needed.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies and improve the accuracy of financial records.
• Ensure compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and reporting standards.

Required Qualifications

• Approximately 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Power Plan and SAP , preferably in a fixed asset accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, capital assets, and capitalization processes.
• Experience with general accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
• Experience preparing financial reports and supporting audit requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute with minimal training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in the utility, energy, oil and gas, or another asset-intensive industry.
• Experience supporting fixed asset tax, regulatory, and compliance reporting.
• Experience using Power Plan and SAP within the same organization or accounting function.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with direct Power Plan experience, strong SAP knowledge, and a background in fixed asset or capital asset accounting. Candidates who have worked in the utility or energy industry and can immediately support daily accounting operations, monthly close, capitalization, and reporting will be given priority.

Important Screening Criteria: Power Plan experience is a key differentiator. Candidates who have actively used Power Plan for fixed asset or capital accounting are preferred over those who have only listed it on their resumes.
