Accounting and Controlling Associate

Purpose of the Role

The Accounting and Controlling Support Associate supports Global Accounting and Controlling by ensuring efficient finance operations, robust reporting processes, high data quality and stable system workflows. The role focuses on recurring, process-based activities that follow standardized templates and are scalable within a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

Group Accounting Operations

·       Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities for Group Accounting (e.g. FX-rate preparation, sales reconciliation)

·       Intercompany (IC) reconciliation support and follow-up

·       Preparation of template-based reporting sections (charts and tables)

Administrative & Reporting Tasks Group Accounting & Controlling

·       Monitoring reporting calendars and deadlines

·       Sending reminders to data owners and contributors

·       Tracking reporting submissions and completion status, including KPI tracking for month‑end closing reporting process

·       Managing rejected reports and workflow follow-ups

·       Update monthly reports (i.e. non personnel costs monitoring)

·       Administrator Concur (spend & travel management tool)

Systems, Tools & Finance Transformation Group Accounting

·       Support Tagetik consolidation tool implementation

·       Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and migration activities

·       Perform data testing during UAT and migration phases

·       Prepare user documentation and training materials

SAP / BI Master Data & Controlling Operations

·       Maintaining relevant entries in the material master on the accounting and costing views

as part of the material master workflow.

·       Conducting regular checks (master data, transactional data)

·       Assisting with the preparation, analysis, and commentary on internal management reports

·       Supporting the creation and analysis of product cost estimates (annual budget cost estimate, monthly updated budget cost estimate, annual group cost estimate, in-year cost estimate for new products)

Sustainability Data Collection (Process-Based)

·       Activities are limited to data collection and first‑level validation based on predefined templates; ownership for methodology and disclosure remains with Group Accounting / Sustainability

·   Routine collection of environmental data (E1–E5): energy usage, water consumption, waste & recycling volumes, emission activity data

·   Routine collection of social data (S1–S4): workforce numbers, training hours, diversity KPIs, health & safety metrics

·    Routine collection of governance data (G1): policy confirmations, compliance training records

Role Characteristics

·       Recurring and standardized processes with defined templates

·       Clear handovers and defined reporting timelines

·       The role does not include direct people management responsibilities

·       The role operates within the Team ‘Group Accounting’ and interfaces closely with the Teams ‘Global Supply Chain Controlling’, ‘Global Sales & Marketing Controlling’ and ‘Global Accounting and Controlling Processes’

Education & Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field

·       Relevant professional experience in audit (ideally in a Big 4 environment), finance operations, group reporting, accounting, controlling or shared service environments is an advantage
