Accounting & Data Collection Intern – Paid Internship

K SRA CPA PC is a U.S.-based accounting and tax advisory firm serving individuals and businesses with accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and compliance services.

We are looking for motivated interns who want practical exposure to U.S. accounting and taxation processes while working with a professional accounting team.

Role Overview

As an Accounting & Data Collection Intern, you will support our accounting and tax team by gathering, organizing, reviewing, and maintaining financial information required for bookkeeping, accounting, tax preparation, and client reporting.

This internship is ideal for candidates who want hands-on experience with U.S. accounting operations, QuickBooks, financial documentation, data reconciliation, and taxation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and organize accounting and financial data from clients.
• Review bank statements, credit card statements, merchant processor reports, and supporting documents.
• Maintain structured accounting records and client documentation.
• Assist with transaction classification and data entry.
• Support bank and credit card reconciliation processes.
• Work with QuickBooks for transaction review, categorization, reconciliation, and maintaining accounting records.
• Identify missing documents or incomplete financial information and coordinate follow-ups.
• Assist the accounting team with preparation of financial reports and working papers.
• Maintain accurate Excel spreadsheets, trackers, and client checklists.
• Help organize information required for U.S. tax preparation and compliance.
• Follow internal procedures for documentation, confidentiality, and data management.

What We Are Looking For

• Students or recent graduates in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related fields.
• Basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping concepts.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work with large amounts of financial data.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and follow structured processes.
• Willingness to learn U.S. accounting and taxation procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience using QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online is strongly preferred.
• Experience with bookkeeping, transaction categorization, bank reconciliation, or financial data entry.
• Familiarity with U.S. accounting practices or taxation is an added advantage.
• Previous internship or work experience with an accounting, bookkeeping, or CPA firm will be preferred.
