Accounting Assistant

About the role

The Philippine Football Federation is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our finance team on a full-time basis at our office in Carmona, Cavite. In this role, you will provide essential support to our accounting department, ensuring accurate financial records and smooth day-to-day operations. This position is fundamental to maintaining the financial integrity of the Federation and supporting our mission to develop and promote football across the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Maintaining and organizing accounting files and documentation in accordance with Federation policies
• Reconciling accounts and identifying discrepancies or errors for correction
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Liaising with internal departments to clarify transaction details and resolve accounting queries
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Performing general administrative duties to support the accounting function
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal control procedures

What we're looking for

• A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical accounting experience
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments
• Integrity and discretion when handling financial and confidential information
• A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Willingness to learn and develop professional knowledge in accounting and finance
• Experience with financial reconciliation or bank reconciliation is advantageous
• Familiarity with sports organizations or non-profit accounting is a plus
