Accounting Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join the finance team at NEWBIG FOUR J CONSTRUCTION INC. This is a full-time position based in Las Pinas City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will provide essential support to our accounting operations, assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, transaction recording, and financial documentation. As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a vital part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, which are crucial to the success of our construction business.

What you'll be doing

• Recording financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and expense claims in accounting systems and ledgers
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including payment processing and invoice verification
• Preparing and maintaining financial documentation, bank reconciliations, and transaction records
• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports and reconciliation statements
• Processing payroll data and assisting with employee-related financial documentation
• Maintaining accurate and organised filing systems for financial documents and records
• Assisting with tax compliance documentation and preparing materials for external audits
• Supporting general administrative tasks related to the accounting department
• Liaising with vendors, clients, and internal departments to resolve accounting queries and discrepancies

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree Major in Financial Management, Accountancy or any other related course
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping principles, accounting cycles, and financial reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording and processing financial information
• Organised approach to work with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Familiarity with construction industry accounting practices is preferred but not essential
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
• Willingness to learn and develop accounting knowledge and skills
