Accounting Assistant

About the role

Seafoods Varieties Corp. is seeking a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join our accounting department on a fulltime basis in Binan City, Laguna. You will provide essential support to our accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This role is fundamental to maintaining the integrity of our financial records and supporting the overall business objectives of Seafoods Varieties Corp.

What you'll be doing

• Recording financial transactions accurately in accounting systems and ledgers
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Assisting with the preparation of invoices, purchase orders and receipts
• Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies
• Filing and organising financial documents and records in a systematic manner
• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports and statements
• Assisting with expense tracking and cost allocation
• Responding to financial enquiries from internal departments and external parties
• Performing general administrative duties to support the accounting function
• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Completion of secondary education; accounting-related qualifications or certifications (such as bookkeeping or junior accounting qualifications) are advantageous
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent numerical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks effectively
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members
• Reliability, integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred but not essential for candidates with strong foundational skills
• Willingness to learn and develop professional expertise within the accounting discipline
