Accounting Assistant

KMC Partners and Enliven Construction are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our growing team in Philadelphia. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in building a career in accounting within the commercial construction industry.

Working closely with our accounting and project management teams, the Accounting Assistant will support day-to-day accounting operations while gaining exposure to construction-specific financial processes, including job costing, subcontractor billing, project accounting, and financial reporting.

What You'll Do

• Process vendor and subcontractor invoices and assist with accounts payable
• Review invoices for proper project and cost-code allocation
• Assist with credit card transactions, employee expenses, and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate vendor and subcontractor records
• Support project accounting and job-cost reporting
• Assist with subcontractor payment documentation, including lien waivers and compliance requirements
• Support owner billing and accounts receivable as needed
• Assist with monthly reconciliations and accounting close processes
• Work with Project Managers to help maintain accurate project financial information
• Assist with general accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
• 0–2 years of accounting or related professional experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with numbers and learning new financial systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative attitude and willingness to learn

Previous construction accounting experience is not required . We're looking for someone with a strong foundation, attention to detail, and an interest in learning the financial side of commercial construction.
