Role summary

The Accounting Assistant supports the Accounting Officer in processing claims and disbursement transactions. The role prepares and checks documents, encodes transactions, keeps files in order and follows up on pending items so that payments and claim settlements move without delay.

Key responsibilities

Processing support

• Receive and log payment requests, billings and claims documents, and check that supporting papers are complete.
• Prepare vouchers, checks and remittance forms for the Accounting Officer's review.
• Encode claims and disbursement transactions in the accounting system.
• Prepare withholding tax certificates and official receipts as instructed.

Monitoring and follow-up

• Update the claims receivable and payable trackers and the payment schedule.
• Follow up with cedants, reinsurers, suppliers and banks on pending payments, confirmations and documents.
• Arrange check releasing, bank deposits and other bank transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance or any related course.
• At least 1 year of accounting or bookkeeping experience; fresh graduates with strong academic records may be considered.
• Basic understanding of accounting entries, vouchering and withholding taxes.
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Detail-oriented, organized, reliable with deadlines and willing to learn.
• Trustworthy in handling financial documents and confidential information.

Pay: Php20,000.00 - Php28,000.00 per month
