Accounting Assistant - Construction

Duties

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
• Reconcile balance sheets and perform account analysis to verify accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities.
• Support project-specific cost tracking by analyzing job costs, reviewing subcontractor invoices, and ensuring proper coding.
• Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion while maintaining compliance with controls.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping within a construction environment.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while demonstrating strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and providing customer service support related to financial inquiries.

Pay: $28.07 - $33.80 per hour
