Accounting Associate

Acacia Home Builders is the dedicated supply partner of a major nationwide hardware retail chain — four years in, real revenue, real operations, and a finance team that's ready to level up. We need an Accounting Associate who takes financial reporting seriously and takes pride in getting the numbers right.

This role is focused and meaningful: you'll own the preparation of financial statements, keep our books accurate and current, and make sure our reporting gives leadership the clarity they need to make good decisions. You won't be spread thin across a dozen functions — you'll go deep on what matters most in accounting.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Financial Statements & Reporting

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements — P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
• Ensure financial reports are completed on schedule and presented clearly to management
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure all reports reflect the true financial position
• Develop and maintain financial dashboards and summary reports that give leadership a clear view of performance
• Support analysis of revenues, costs, and margins across product lines to inform business decisions

General Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing process and ensure it runs on time
• Maintain the fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and lapsing schedules
• Handle petty cash management, expense liquidations, and cash position monitoring

BIR Compliance & Tax Filing

• Prepare and file all tax returns accurately and on time — VAT, income tax, expanded withholding tax, and payroll-related taxes
• Ensure compliance with BIR regulations, Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS/PFRS), and statutory requirements
• Maintain complete and organized tax documentation and support audit requirements
• Monitor BIR deadlines and ensure no filings are missed
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist in preparing supporting documentation for audited financials

Budget Support & Financial Analysis

• Assist in the annual budgeting process — gather data, consolidate inputs, and track actuals vs. budget
• Flag budget variances and expenditure anomalies to the reporting manager in a timely manner
• Support pricing analysis and cost-benefit reviews for management decision-making
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records that can be pulled at any time for reporting

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field — CPA license is a strong advantage
• At least 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to financial reporting and BIR compliance
• Strong, working knowledge of BIR regulations, PAS/PFRS, and Philippine tax filing requirements
• Proven experience preparing financial statements — P&L, balance sheet, cash flow
• Solid general accounting skills: journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close
• Proficient in accounting software — QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or similar
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills — comfortable with formulas, pivot tables, and multi-sheet workbooks
• Meticulous attention to detail — you catch errors before anyone else does
• High integrity and discretion in handling financial data
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team where you wear multiple hats
