Accounting Associate

About the role

Flash Cargo Logistics Network Inc. is seeking a full-time Accounting professional to join our finance team in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This is a pivotal role within our organisation, responsible for managing and overseeing our financial accounting and reporting functions. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy, compliance and timeliness of our financial records, supporting critical business decisions and maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting processes.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including journal entries, ledger accounts and account reconciliations
• Processing and verifying accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Conducting account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Managing the fixed asset register and recording depreciation entries
• Supporting the audit process by preparing documentation and providing necessary financial information to external auditors
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
• Assisting with the preparation of management reports and financial analysis
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation for all financial transactions
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Relevant professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in financial accounting and reporting within a logistics, transportation or related industry
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards and best practices (IFRS or GAAP)
• Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and financial modelling
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members across departments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and compliance requirements is preferred
