Accounting Associate

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Accounting Associate will be to support Walking Shield Inc. by helping to keep the organization’s financial records accurate and up to date.

Typical duties include:

• Entering bills, payments, and deposits into accounting software
• Processing invoices and reimbursements
• Reconciling bank and credit card statements
• Tracking accounts payable (money owed) and accounts receivable (money due)
• Organizing receipts and supporting documents
• Helping prepare monthly reports and records for the accountant
• Additional assistance as needed

Requirements

• Excellent documentation and record-keeping ability.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize complex tasks and competing deadlines.
• Knowledge of grant funding requirements including proper account coding and funder reporting.
• Proficient in Quickbooks Online.
• Knowledge of payroll processing, preferably through ADP platform.
• 1-2 years accounting experience in a Non-Profit setting.
• 1+ years working with Native American communities. (preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other applicable field of study.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
