Accounting Associate

G.A.P Vassilopoulos Group is seeking to recruit an Accounting Associate to be based at our Head Offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The position offers the opportunity to become part of a dynamic and professional working environment.

The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day accounting operations of the Group, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Track and record all incoming and outgoing financial transactions, such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
• Keep the general ledger up-to-date by recording transactions in various accounts (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and expenses).
• Monitor and process payments to vendors and suppliers.
• Ensure invoices are sent out on time and payments are received.
• Reconcile bank statements with the company's records to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain a record of petty cash used for small expenses.
• Assist with VAT-related matters and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support the preparation of tax and regulatory submissions, including VIES where applicable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or LCCI Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Fluent in Greek and English
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Cycom) will be considered an advantage
• Computer Literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
