Accounting Associate

DeJoy & Co., a premier regional business advisory and public accounting firm, has an immediate opening for a full-time experienced Accounting Associate to join our growing Outsourced Accounting Services team.

Founded in 1990, DeJoy & Co. is located in downtown Rochester’s state-of-the-art Tower280 at Midtown. We provide clients with the highest quality audit, tax, financial consulting, information systems consulting, and outsourced accounting services. Our industry-specific professionals offer independent, innovative, practical advice while adding value through technical expertise and a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate client general ledgers.
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivable activities, including payment processing and invoice generation.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments.
• Assist with monthly and year-end close processes for multiple client engagements.
• Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and client workpapers.
• Assist with analysis of account balances, financial results, and variances.
• Develop an understanding of clients’ businesses and accounting processes to effectively support their needs.
• Communicate proactively with clients and engagement teams regarding questions, issues, and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, outsourced accounting, or a client-service environment.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage Intacct or other cloud-based accounting systems preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
