Accounting Associate

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Associate to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be proficient in various accounting software. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Accounting Associate will also play a key role in contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
• Conduct financial analysis, including cash flow analysis and budgeting, to support strategic decision-making.
• Assist with tax preparation and compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Prepare regulatory reports as required by governmental agencies.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks
• Mentor junior accounting staff by providing guidance on technical accounting concepts and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and forecasting initiatives.
• Conduct audits as necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

Experience

• Associates degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and accrual accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis and reporting tasks. Excel proficiency required
• Experience with financial report writing and interpretation is essential for this role.
