Work Arrangement: 100% onsite for the first 100 days, with potential to transition to a 3-day onsite / 2-day remote hybrid schedule based on successful training and performance

About the Opportunity

A well-established distribution company in Chino is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join its Shared Services Accounting team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent Accounting or Finance graduate looking to build a long-term career in corporate accounting.

The position will initially focus heavily on Accounts Receivable, credit, and collections , with opportunities to gain exposure to Accounts Payable and General Ledger accounting as you develop.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned B2B accounts receivable and collection activity
• Contact customers regarding past-due invoices and payment status
• Research account discrepancies, short payments, credits, and deductions
• Review customer accounts and assist with credit-related activities
• Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate AR records
• Partner with branch and sales teams to resolve billing and collection issues
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on delinquent balances
• Apply and research customer payments and credits
• Maintain documentation related to customer accounts and collection activity
• Assist the Shared Services team with Accounts Payable as needed
• Enter invoices and expenses and review supporting documentation
• Assist with vendor statement reconciliations, payment research, and check runs
• Gain exposure to broader accounting functions as experience progresses

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required , preferably in Accounting or Finance
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Previous AR, credit, collections, AP, internship, or general accounting experience is helpful but not required
• Strong Excel and general computer skills
• Comfortable communicating with customers regarding outstanding balances
• Strong attention to detail and ability to research discrepancies
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Motivated to develop a career in accounting
