Accounting Clerk

Job Summary
The Accounting Clerk supports the clinic's financial operations by executing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring smooth transaction processing. This role focuses heavily on data entry, invoice processing, and financial ledger accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable (A/P): Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, verify expense approvals, and prepare weekly check runs or electronic disbursements.
• Accounts Receivable (A/R): Record incoming payments, apply cash/checks/electronic transfers to correct patient accounts, and flag past-due invoices for follow-up. Prepare invoices for submission to insurance companies.
• Data Entry & Coding: Enter financial transactions into accounting software and assign proper general ledger codes to all operational expenses.
• Bank Reconciliation: Match bank statement transactions with internal financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Administrative Support: Maintain physical and digital financial filing systems, prepare basic financial reports, and assist with year-end audit preparations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Associate degree in accounting, business, or finance preferred; high school diploma with equivalent experience accepted.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping, clerical accounting, or administrative data entry experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Use of Microsoft office
• Key Traits: High attention to numerical detail, strong organizational skills, and strict adherence to financial confidentiality.
