Accounting Clerk

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. Duties

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions using multiple accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Workday.
• Reconcile balance sheets and perform account analysis to ensure all financial data aligns with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards.
• Prepare journal entries, assist with month-end closing processes, and support account reconciliation efforts to uphold financial accuracy.
• Manage invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communications while ensuring timely payments through systems like Paychex, ADP, Ceridian, or UltiPro.
• Assist with payroll management tasks including data entry into Kronos or PeopleSoft and handling confidential employee information with discretion.
• Support internal audits by preparing documentation related to SOX compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and other regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to bookkeeping activities such as ledger maintenance, expense tracking, and budget analysis using Excel data analysis techniques and Microsoft Office tools.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate accounting practices and financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles along with knowledge of governmental accounting standards is preferred.
• Experience working with payroll systems like ADP or Kronos and familiarity with time-tracking tools such as UltiPro is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and account reconciliation tasks.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with proficiency in Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and account analysis.
• Ability to perform double-entry bookkeeping accurately while managing accounts payable/receivable processes efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of performing balance sheet reconciliation and journal entries independently.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience supporting internal or external audits is a plus.

Pay: $28.52 - $38.74 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
