Accounting Clerk

Duties

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within various accounting software systems such as Excel, and our ERP.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment posting, and customer account management.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Handle confidential financial information with integrity.
• Assist in budgeting processes and perform basic financial analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to support decision-making.

Experience

• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles within a small business setting.
• Strong familiarity with accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and journal entries.
• Knowledge of public accounting practices and familiarity with governmental accounting standards is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to handle high volumes of data entry accurately while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong organizational abilities and customer service orientation.
