About the role

M Gadget Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting professional to join our growing team in Seri Kembangan, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation. As an Accounting professional, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role is instrumental in supporting our business operations and providing accurate financial information to management and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Recording and posting daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments
• Maintaining accurate and organised bookkeeping records and ledgers
• Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies
• Preparing trial balances and assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Processing payroll information and assisting with employee compensation records
• Preparing financial statements and management reports
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations
• Supporting the audit process by providing necessary documentation and reconciliations
• Communicating with clients or internal departments regarding accounting matters and queries
• Maintaining confidentiality of financial information and adhering to data protection policies

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a small to medium-sized practice or business environment
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and generally accepted accounting practices
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of tax compliance and payroll processing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant professional certifications such as AAT, ACCA, or equivalent would be advantageous
