Accounting Consultant

We are looking for an experienced School Accounting Professional with hands-on experience working in the accounting or finance department of a school or educational institution.

Job Role

• Provide expert guidance on actual accounting practices and workflows used in schools
• Explain and document existing school accounting processes
• Guide the team in defining and setting up school budgets
• Provide input on Budget vs. Actual monitoring and reporting
• Review and validate proposed voucher and disbursement workflows
• Provide guidance on the proper treatment and classification of school income and expenses
• Review proposed accounting processes, workflows, and system features
• Identify common scenarios, exceptions, and business rules that should be considered in the system
• Participate in process walkthroughs, consultations, and project discussions
• Provide recommendations to ensure that system workflows are aligned with actual school accounting practices
• Help identify gaps between the proposed system processes and real-world school operations

Qualifications

• Experience handling or overseeing school accounting processes, rather than cashiering alone
• Worked directly in the Accounting or Finance Department of a school or educational institution
• Practical knowledge of school budgeting, billing, collections, vouchers, payables, receivables, and financial reporting
• Experience explaining or documenting accounting processes and workflows
  -The ability to translate actual accounting practices into clear processes, requirements, and system workflows
• Preferably a CPA with hands-on school accounting experience.
