ACCOUNTING GENERALIST

About the role

Himex Corporation, an established business operating in the medical industry for over 30 years, is looking for an Accounting Generalist to join the Accounting Department.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger. Prepare journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and other financial transactions. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Review and reconcile vendor statements. Prepare and process payments in a timely manner.
• Generate and send customer invoices. Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments. Post customer payments and reconcile accounts.
• Reconcile bank statements with the general ledger. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and financial reports. Support the preparation of budget-versus-actual analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Assist with internal and external audits.
• Assist in financial analysis, including variance analysis and cost control.
• Assist with the day-to-day reconciliation and monitoring of collections from Himex Corporation's various patient imaging operations, ensuring compliance with established custodial protocols.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience working as an Accountant, preferably with experience in general accounting functions.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and applicable regulations.
• CPA or currently pursuing CPA certification (preferred).
• Experience with QuickBooks or equivalent ERP/accounting software (preferred).
• Knowledge of Philippine taxation laws and regulations (preferred).
