Key Responsibilities

1. Industry-Specific Financial Management

• Disbursement Accounts (DA) Administration: Manage, review, and approve Port Disbursement Accounts (PDAs/FDAs) for vessel calls, ensuring accurate settlement with port agents, stevedores, and maritime authorities.
• Freight & Demurrage Accounting: Oversee revenue recognition for ocean, air, and land transport. Handle demurrage, detention, storage, and ancillary charges according to laytime calculations and charter party agreements.
• Job/Voyage Profitability Analysis: Monitor accruals and actual expenses per voyage, shipment, or trade lane. Analyze cost components (bunkers, charter hire, port tariffs, feeder costs) to ensure margin accuracy.
• Multi-Currency & Treasury Management: Manage multi-currency transactions, hedging strategies, and foreign exchange gains/losses stemming from international freight rates and port charges.

2. Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Oversee the end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with relevant standards (IFRS/GAAP) and industry-specific regulations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, serving as the main point of contact for maritime regulators, tax authorities, and auditing firms.
• Ensure full compliance with customs, cross-border tax regulations, transfer pricing, and VAT/GST rules on international transport.

3. Cash Flow, Billing & Collections

• Supervise Freight Billing and Collections to minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) in a fast-moving logistics environment.
• Manage Accounts Payable processes, ensuring timely payments to carriers, shipping lines, port authorities, and trucking subcontractors.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts to support capital allocation and chartering/fleet needs.

4. Leadership & Systems Implementation

• Lead, mentor, and evaluate the accounting and finance team.
• Maintain and optimize logistics ERP/accounting software (e.g., CargoWise, SAP Freight Management, Oracle Logistics, Softship, or Veson Nautical).
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and risk mitigation policies.

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
