Accounting Head

Role Overview

• Position: Accounting Head
• Department: Accounting Department
• Reports to: Top Management
• Supervises: Branch Accounting staff, Fleet, and Finance officers

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to top management.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Oversee internal and external audits, coordinate with auditors, and address audit findings.
• Develop and manage the budgeting and forecasting process, and monitor budget variances against targets.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide data to assist in strategic decision-making and improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with all tax obligations, stay current with changing tax laws, and implement necessary adjustments.
• Monitor cash flow to meet company liquidity needs and recommend investment or financing decisions.
• Manage and lead the accounting department, evaluate performance, and delegate tasks effectively.
• Oversee the implementation of financial systems and accounting software, leveraging technology to streamline processes.
• Identify financial risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Negotiate favorable terms with financial institutions.
• Perform other justifiable duties assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is preferred, though a CPA is not strictly required.
• Experience: Several years of progressively responsible experience in financial and accounting roles.
• Core Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws. Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
