Accounting Head

About the role

The Head of Accounting uses accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information and prepare accurate and timely financial reports and ensures appropriate accounting control procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Check financial data or schedules prepared by direct reports
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements
• Prepare horizontal and vertical analysis
• Prepare variance analysis to budget and forecast
• Prepare financial data and/or reports needed by investors, NSO, BSP, BIR, SEC and other agencies
• Prepare quarterly and annual Income Tax Return for BIR
• Check remittances on withholding taxes, VAT and other remittances
• Provide financial data needed in the performance evaluation of employees
• Provide proper costing of all products and services of the hospital
• Oversee the operations of Accounting Division and assigned staff

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or related fields
• Certified Public Accountant
• Comprehensive understanding of the entire financial reporting cycle including the other inter-related cycles of inventory and accounts receivable
• Knowledgeable on basic regulatory requirements of government agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Securities and Exchange Commission, Local Government Unit and other government agencies
• Experience in a computer-based Accounting Information System
• At least five (5) years work experience as a Manager in a Finance Department/Group from a reputable company, preferably in a Healthcare facility
