Accounting Intern

About the role

Sert Technology Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our finance team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical experience in bookkeeping and small practice accounting. Based in General Trias City, Cavite, this role will provide you with hands-on exposure to fundamental accounting principles, record-keeping practices, and business finance operations. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced accounting professionals, contributing to the smooth operation of our financial processes whilst developing your professional skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense documentation
• Support the preparation and maintenance of general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers
• Help reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Support the preparation of trial balances and preliminary financial statements
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software
• Help organize and file financial documents and supporting materials
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Support the preparation of expense reports and reimbursement documentation
• Perform other general accounting administrative tasks as assigned

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong foundational knowledge of basic accounting principles and the accounting cycle
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (such as QuickBooks or similar platforms)
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Professional attitude with a commitment to learning and professional development
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
• Preferred: Previous bookkeeping experience or coursework in financial accounting
• Preferred: Familiarity with Filipino accounting standards and regulations
