Responsibilities

• Support compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Contribute to accounts payable and accounts receivable management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions.
• Help with bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance using accounting software like Sage, Xero, or other financial systems.
• Participate in financial analysis activities including cash flow analysis, budgeting support, and financial report interpretation.
• Aid in the preparation of journal entries, accruals, and supporting documentation for audits or internal reviews.
• Handle confidential information with integrity while adhering to compliance protocols related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and securities law.

Experience

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrated familiarity with accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and financial statement analysis.
• Experience with financial software applications like Sage, Xero, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and report writing.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards including GAAP and SEC reporting is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and mentoring within a team environment.
